Meet our Team Members:
Every month we will be selecting a team member for our Employee Spotlight.
This month we’re introducing Danyell Risdal. Danyell is a Telecommunicator on C-Shift and has been working for Greenville County EMS since September of 2021.
What is your favorite quote, saying, or motto?
“When you can’t find the sunshine, be the sunshine.”
What is your greatest achievement in life so far?
I would have to say my greatest achievement so far is facing my fear of change by moving away from my home state of Iowa and getting a job in the field I love!
What is your #1 pet peeve?
Drivers that have no headlights on when it’s raining or becoming dark out!!!
What is your most memorable moment in your EMS career?
Haven’t been in the EMS field for too long, but so far I would say passing the NREMT exam. Transferring between states while doing that was stressful and I’ve never studied so much in my life.
What is your favorite movie or play?
That’s a tough one— I’d have to go with Coraline.
What would constitute a perfect EMS crew member?
Always being great with collaboration and not being afraid to crack a few jokes!
What is your best kept secret?
I’m pretty good at and love baking.
What would you consider your worst habit?
Biting my nails.
Greatest inspiration in your life?
My greatest inspiration is my older sister Shelbi, she’s always lived in the
moment and is determined to achieve her dreams. She gives me motivation to continue chasing my own. Growing up we
didn’t get along the best, but now I don’t know what I’d do without her!
What is your favorite food item?
Hands down, steak hibachi with fried rice and extra yum-yum sauce.
What would be considered luxury to you?
Having lots of land for my dogs to run free on- someday!
If you could meet anyone in the history of the world, who and why?
If I could meet anyone, I would choose to meet Viola Davis. She seems like a fierce woman who keeps it real. I’m not sure I would even know what to say to her, honestly!
What would your epitaph say?
My epitaph would say: “She did it the hard way.” I’m known for making things more difficult than they need to be.
What is your favorite type of music?
My favorite type of music is hard to narrow down, but I’m usually listening to some pop or 90’s alt rock!
Where would you like to grow old?
I would like to grow old wherever I end up with Jack, my boyfriend.
