This month we’re introducing Missi Cody. Missi is a Communications Training Specialist on A-Shift and has been serving with Greenville County EMS since 2013.
What is your favorite quote, saying, or motto?
“If you don’t have time do it right the first time, then when are you going to have time to do it over?”
What is your greatest achievement in life so far?
My family. I’ve been married for 23 + years and I have two children. Erin is a rising Senior at College of Charleston and Maverick will be a Senior at TR High.
What is your #1 pet peeve?
Negativity. Fill your cup up people!!
What is your most memorable moment in your EMS career?
I once helped EMS and Fire find a blind person who was in a car with an unconscious driver. They had gone off the road into the woods. I told him to use his horn and that’s how they located him.
What is your favorite movie or play?
Steel Magnolias.
What would constitute a perfect EMS crew member?
A perfect partner is someone that is willing to work any position, goes with the flow even when everything is always changing. Most importantly they have to know how to laugh.
What is your best kept secret?
My first dream job was to be a Fire Chief. I still have the toy fire truck that Santa brought me that year.
What would you consider your worst habit?
Procrastination.
Greatest inspiration in your life?
My Grandmothers. I spent most of my time growing up in one of their kitchens. It’s where I learned that cooking is my love language.
What is your favorite food item?
BBQ ribs.
What would be considered luxury to you?
A luxury would be a day with nothing on my “to do” list.
If you could meet anyone in the history of the world, who and why?
Dolly Parton. She’s such an icon. I’ve been a fan of hers for as long as I can remember.
What would your epitaph say?
World’s Okayest Mom.
What is your favorite type of music?
I like Dolly, George Jones and Conway Twitty.
Where would you like to grow old?
I feel like I’ve already grown old and I have no plans of ever leaving Marietta. However, if I do, I want the nursing home with the good bingo prizes.
