Variances allow for the departure from the strict application of the requirements outlined in an ordinance.
If it is deemed that the strict enforcement of the Land Development Regulations would result in substantial
or excessive difficulties, hardships, or injustices, the Planning Commission may modify such requirements so
that the applicant is allowed to develop his or her property in a reasonable manner. All variance applications
must follow the Subdivision Review Calendar which
includes sign posting requirements, review and comments by the Subdivision Advisory Committee (SAC) followed
by review and approval by the Planning Commission. The Planning Commission meets and reviews the recommendations
of the Subdivision Staff and the SAC on the 4th Wednesday of each month at 4:30 p.m.
