Mills Mill Community Meeting on November 13th

The County Planning Staff discussed the upcoming planning process with Mills Mill Community Residents at their meeting on November 13th.  Staff was able to have residents fill out several more surveys and had 10 residents sign up to serve on the Citizen Advisory Committee.  Planning staff is developing a draft planning process and will share it with the Citizen Advisory Committee In January, 2015.  It is not too late for other residents or local business owners to volunteer for membership on the Citizen Advisory Committee. Mills Mill Fall Festival Recap

The Mills Mill Community held its annual Fall Festival on Saturday, October 25th at the Open Heart Baptist Church campus.  The planning staff was in attendance and shared information with the public about the upcoming Mills Mill Community Plan and some of the community inventory that has already been conducted.  Residents and property owners were given an opportunity to fill out a short community survey identifying some of the strengths and weaknesses of the Mills Mill Community.  If you are interested in participating in the community plan planning process, please contact Tom Meeks on our staff.  In addition ...

The Mills Mill Community will be having their annual Fall Festival on Saturday, October 25th from 12 to 3pm at the Open Heart Baptist Church campus located at 205 Stafford Street in Greenville.  In addition to the fellowship, food and games, the planning staff will be present to display some of the information they have been collecting as part of the Mills Mill Community planning effort.  So come out and learn more about the Mills Mill Community and share your thoughts and how we can make Mills Mill an even better place to live.

Mills Mill Community Plan Underway

In 1896 the construction of the Mills Mill began and the mill community began developing shortly thereafter. Today, Mills Mill is primarily a residential community that faces many challenges and opportunities and its residents want to identify a future vision for their area.  The Mills Mill Community  is bordered on the east by the City of Greenville, on the south by Mills Avenue, on the west by Brushy Creek, and on the north by Green Avenue.
