5 Year Review

The Five Year Review of the 2020 Greenville County Comprehensive Plan is a mandated assessment by the local planning commission to evaluate population trends, housing needs, land use patterns, and implementation progress since adoption. It updates census data, reports development activity, discusses goal achievements, and determines if amendments are needed due to growth changes. This satisfies SC Code 6-29-510(E) by fulfilling the requirement for a periodic re-evaluation at least every five years to assess whether development shifts or other factors warrant plan updates. The Greenville County Adopted Plans Audit is a supplementary document to the Five Year Review of the Plan 2020 Greenville County Comprehensive Plan. It updates statistical data from the adoption dates of active area, corridor, community, and neighborhood plans (adopted by County Council as amendments to the Comprehensive Plan) and provides a status report on their outlined strategies, in accordance with the Enabling Act of 1994. This audit aligns with the required review cadence of the Comprehensive Plan, offering residents a detailed progress update on initiative implementation while providing elected and appointed officials with current data for informed decision-making.
