Westside Park Project Overview
This project is one of many RIA (SCIIP) funded water quality improvement projects by Greenville County. This project incorporates infiltration and passive stormwater treatment BMPs around Greenville County’s 44-Acre park. Although much of this area is forested, the BMPs seek to treat existing parking lots and impervious areas by routing existing stormwater through newly constructed bioswales, enhanced dry swales, regenerative stormwater conveyances, a rain garden, and a bioretention pond.
This project includes the construction of these BMPs as well as additional landscaping to include the planting of native grasses and slope stabilization throughout the park. All excavated material will remain on site for this project and in most cases, can be spread and stabilized adjacent or near the installed BMPs.
