EMS Career Exploring
About Our Post
EMT ACademy

EMS Career Exploring is a hands-on program open to young men and women from the 9th grade or 14 to 20 years old with an interest in learning more about careers in the field of pre-hospital care or Emergency Services. Exploring provides exciting activities and one-on-one mentorship for those looking to discover their future.

Our post is sponsored by Boy Scouts of America and Greenville County EMS. Our Explorers take classes to learn about Pre-Hospital Emergency Medicine and the basic treatment of the sick and injured. They receive hands on instruction, practicing the basic skills performed in the field and participate in Emergency Medical Responder lectures. Explorers will receive their CPR certification.

Once their hands on training is complete Explorers have the opportunity to ride in a Greenville County ambulance. In the field, they will receive firsthand experience under the supervision of a current EMT and/or Paramedic.

Every year the Post competes in a regional competition in Gatlinburg, TN. The Winterfest competition puts their skills and knowledge to the test! Explorers will compete in both Basic and Advanced Level Skills.

If you are interested in attending one of our meetings to learn more, simply contact an Explorer Advisor at explorerpost@greenvillecounty.org to arrange a visit.
