The goal of the Litter Prevention Program is to educate the community on the negative impacts of litter, while empowering them to unite towards ending litter in Greenville County. The purpose of this program is to raise awareness through community outreach efforts, classroom education, enforcement, media, and county events.
The Greater Greenville Sanitation District (GGSD) is a Special Purpose District created in 1968 by the South Carolina legislature to provide non-hazardous solid waste collection to the unincorporated areas of Greenville County, South Carolina.
The Solid Waste Division is committed to providing Solid Waste collection, disposal and education services to the citizens of Greenville County. As part of our Solid Waste Management Plan we encourage recycling of wastes through educational programs and by providing recycling drop-off sites throughout the county.
